Things to do

BARNARD, VT & SILVER LAKE

Barnard, VT and Silver Lake are 15 minutes from Woodstock by car. Silver Lake State Park has a public beach with canoe and kayak rentals. Barnard General Store has great breakfast and sandwiches.

HIKING & GILE MOUNTAIN

There are a number of amazing day hikes in and around Woodstock. One of our favorites is a short hike to the Gile Mountain Fire Tower - a little work for a lot of views. In Woodstock, the Billings Farm National Historical Park provides a number of fun walks and hikes as well.

DARTMOUTH COLLEGE

We both attended Dartmouth College. The campus is in Hanover and there are a number of highlights. The Orozco Murals in Baker Library are stunning, and the Hood Museum of Art is worth checking out. The Tower Room and Sanborn House are beautiful quiet spaces. There are great walking trails along the river in Pine Park and Matt thinks the Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse is the best.

HANOVER

Main Street in Hanover has a bunch of great restaurants and shops. Matt used to wait tables at Molly's and Murphy's is a great place for a beer (Lindley lived upstairs!). There are swimming docks on the Connecticut River off of West Wheelock St. Get coffee at Dirt Cowboy and sandwiches at Umpleby's Bakery.
